Artificial intelligence (AI) is entering everyday life and transforming medical practice. Biobanking is the science where the current progress is fueled by AI driven processes. The great number of samples in biobanks and related data and information offer the optimal field for AI applications in the frame of personalized medicine, drug development, acceleration of basic scientific discoveries. The definition, brief history, and the readiness for AI in biobanking will be presented. The potential of AI in biobanking, education for new era of AI driven biobankers and future trends will be outlined.
At the end of this presentation, the learner will be able to:
1. Understand the impact of AI on biobank practice and development
2. Consider the use of AI tools in biobanks and biobanking
3. Think about new education for future biobankers
Presenter's Bio:
Judita Kinkorová is currently a manager of international research cooperation and affairs at University Hospital Pilsen and Charles University, Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen. She was the manager of European project from FP7 (Framework programme 7) focused on biobanking infrastructures, BBMRI-ERIC in Pilsen, and she was a manager of the hospital integrated biobank at University Hospital in Pilsen. She was a national coordinator of ARICE project of Horizon 2020, Twinning. Her main areas of interest are personalized medicine, biobanking and healthy life style and wellbeing. Since 2019 she has been an EMEA Regional Ambassador of ISBER.
