The ISBER Governance Committee, whose purpose is listed below, is seeking a new member to join the committee.
Purpose:
Oversee orientation, education, training, onboarding, and development programs for the Society's volunteer leadership;
At least every three (3) years review and make recommendations, if necessary, regarding the Society's governing documents including, but not limited to, Bylaws and governance related policies, procedures, and practices;
Oversee volunteer compliance with the Society's governing documents, policies, and procedures including, but not limited to the Society's Conflict of Interest Policy;
Perform such other duties and responsibilities as the Board of Directors (BOD) shall assign from time to time.
Process:
Nominations are open from September 1 to September 23, 2022.

Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the Governance Committee, using the criteria below. The Governance committee will make recommendations to the Board for approval.
This committee meets 8 to 10 times per year; we estimate the time commitment to be two to four hours per month.
Selection Criteria:
Ideas: degree to which ideas are appropriate, unique, and innovative
Commitment: expression of willingness to contribute to work of the Committee
Demonstrated interest or experience with association governance and/or policy development.
The Governance Committee seeks to recruit a committee member and an alternate committee member who would be available to join the group when a vacancy becomes available.
