The Australasian Biospecimen Network (ABN)
(ABN) is a professional organization established in 2002 to provide a forum to address technical, legal / ethical, and managerial issues relevant to human biospecimen repositories. It is composed of a variety of specialists involved in tissue banking for research purposes, including several who are members of ISBER (Lisa Devereux, Heather Thorne). In addition to this, we are currently developing a 'Tissue Specimen Locator' which will allow researchers to use a web-based search page to discover what tissue is available for their studies on a national level.
