The Education and Training Advisory Committee works to identify and implement mechanisms to ensure that ISBER members have access to information and tools to effectively operate repositories for the preservation of specimens for future research and analysis.
Committee Achievements:

Successfully organized, marketed, and managed 10 workshops within the ISBER 2018 Annual Meeting conference program |

Compiled a list of 37 educational videos available on the ISBER website to serve as resources for ISBER members who wish to quickly review biobanking related procedures and topics |

Implement an educational needs survey to identify education gaps in the biobanking industry and inform the development of educational projects for biobanking |

Create and coordinate an educational webinar series on Best Practices and other topics |

Develop education focused on the enviro-bio community |

Become a clearinghouse for “how-to’s”, tools and SOP’s related to biobanking and repositories |

Create ways for the public to become more aware of biobanking through educational campaigns and initiatives |

The Education and Training Advisory Committee strives to identify and implement mechanisms to ensure ISBER members have access to state-of-the art information and tools to effectively operate repositories and ensure quality preservation of specimens for future research and analysis following ISBER Best Practices.
The Committee also provides information on training courses and other educational opportunities (webinars, videos) to allow for the dissemination of methods and practices for performing efficient, effective repository activities.
