CSF Biobanking Special Interest Group
Share |

Co-Chairs: Charlotte Teunissen and Fay Betsou

The aim of the Special Interest Group is to develop guidelines and protocols to optimise CSF biobanking procedures and to enable collaboration and exchange of CSF between international cohorts of neurological patients.

  1. Develop proficiency testing programs to address biospecimen processing in agreement with current biobanking guidelines for biobanking for cerebrospinal fluid, embedded in ISBER infrastructures and programs.
  2. Develop guidelines for exchange of biomaterial from patients with neurodegenerative diseases.
  3. Develop datawarehouse framework for biobanked biospecimens, including development of minimal datasets of biobanked biospecimen information, and links to clinical data.
  4. Provide a platform for exchange of best practices related to biobanking for neurological diseases.
  5. Provide a platform to exchange experiences on stability of biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluid.

Access Biorepository Metadata

The following link gives access to a REDCap server which contains metadata related to the biorepository level, the collection level, and the individual sample level. This tool has been configured in the scope of neurological disease collections, but can be used for other disease collections too.
