The ISBER Award for Outstanding Achievement in Biobanking is designed to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of biobanking. The award can be given for a single outstanding achievement or a life-time body of outstanding work in the field. The recipients of this award need not be an ISBER member. Criteria to be considered include the nature, significance, and impact on the field of the outstanding achievement(s). The awardee being recognized should have made seminal, intellectual contributions that have had a wide-spread impact on the field of biobanking.
Nomination and Selection Process
ISBER members who nominate individuals for these awards will be asked to describe why they think the nominee qualifies for the award and describe the nominee's specific contributions and achievements that support the nomination. Members may also be asked to provide a CV or resume for the nominee. The Nominating Committee will then evaluate each nominee on its own merit based on the value and impact of the nominee's contributions to the field of biobanking and the mission and goals of the society, the breadth of influence, etc. Nominating Committee members will not be eligible for these awards while they are serving on the committee. Given the significance of this award, approval will be required by Council for selection of the awardee.
ISBER Members will be notified when the opportunity to submit nominations for this award becomes available.
