1:00 - 5:30pm Issues in Developing and Maintaining a Tissue Repository

This workshop will focus on the questions one should ask when developing a Human Tissue Repository, and some of the challenges that will be faced in maintaining that repository. We will discuss the various Models of Tissue Repositories, the Issues that should be Considered, and what Services the repository might provide. Quality Control of specimens and Safety and Biohazard issues will be discussed, as will Processing Charges for services and Ethical and Legal issues. The second portion of the workshop will concentrate on the technical details of operating a Human Tissue Repository.
