Issues in
Developing and Maintaining a Tissue Repository
William GRIZZLE, Kathy SEXTON, University of Alabama at
Birmingham, Tissue Collection and Banking Facility, USA
This workshop will focus on the questions one should ask
when developing a Human Tissue Repository, and some of the
challenges that will be faced in maintaining that repository. We
will discuss the various Models of Tissue Repositories, the
Issues that should be Considered, and what Services the
repository might provide. Quality Control of specimens and
Safety and Biohazard issues will be discussed, as will
Processing Charges for services and Ethical and Legal issues.
The second portion of the workshop will concentrate on the
technical details of operating a Human Tissue Repository. |
