The ISBER Council approved the formation of regional chapters. Since the practice of biobanking depends on local cultural, legal, ethical, political and geographic factors; regional groupings and regionally-based discussions may be necessary. A Regional Chapter can help bring together biobankers in the region, so that they can meet and find ways to work together and achieve synergy. Joint committees and working groups that include members from ISBER global as well as the Regional Chapter will enhance communication and ensure that the mutual goals are met.
European, Middle-Eastern and African Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking (ESBB) includes members from several biopreservation and biobanking organizations within this broad geographic region.
